When we last left the crew of the Phyllos, all hell was breaking loose following the crew’s arrival at the Formax-C black hole. After all, things got a bit tense between the crew members during that 10-year journey…

That's awful about Action Lab Entertainment. I've heard that same story a hundred times on the indie film side of the business. It's just terrible. I'll happily stick it to them by enjoying the living daylights out of Awry! Best of luck!
That’s the way of the world, right? Publishers (and film companies, and game studios, and small businesses) come and go! Unfortunately, we were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I’m so glad Awry has reached enthusiastic readers like yourself, Allen!

Wow!!!! This was great. So you no longer have ownership to publish anywhere else? The art was a joy, the story was interesting, and the characters were perfect. Can’t wait for the next installment. Who doesn’t love a good grumpy Captain commanding a mission in space?
Thanks for your enthusiasm, Kevin! While I OWN the comic, they have publishing rights in perpetuity (and putting a digital book on Amazon nowadays pretty much clinches that “perpetuity” thing). By serializing it for FREE, I’m not making any money from it, and thus, am not required to share any profits with the company (and they aren’t exactly sharing with me).
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the characters! I love a grumpy space captain (or a grumpy anything, honestly). I see Awry as a very character-driven story, so if you’re having fun spending time with the cast, the story will be enriching for you as we go along!

Haha, I love the idea of a completely burnt out space crew sent on a 10-year voyage just to deploy a package, only for the package launch to utterly fail. I'll look forward to how the captain tries to fix it on his spacewalk! This feels like the kind of crew that might make a lot of safety shortcuts and have a lot of saved up resentments that they pick on each other for. I look forward to seeing how they grate on each other, how they get along, and who is and isn't reliable in a tough pinch.
As David is a military veteran, I’m guessing the idea of a long trip with a simple goal where everything goes wrong is hitting home!
Your comments are right on theme with the story, David! (What are you? Some kind of storyteller?) I’ll look forward to seeing how our desperate astronauts’ behavior makes you feel with future installments… especially as their actions become even more desperate! (He is a storyteller, by the way.)
Big thanks for all the comments on chapter 1! Keep ‘em coming!

Wes I must say. This story has me engrossed. I’m already a little let down that this story does have a conclusion as this is a title that I would want to revisit on a regular bases. The final panel of the Captain entering the black hole. Great mix of humor and oh crap. Keep sharing !!!
